Tangled Christmas “Lights” Wrapping Paper

Tangled Christmas Lights Made With Tiny Pom Poms
Idea #1: Aren’t these Christmas “lights” super cute?!? The best part is it doesn’t take too much time to make this DIY wrapping paper and you only need a few craft supplies on hand. In fact, all you need is a black marker, tiny pom poms and a hot glue gun. The other fun thing about this wrapping paper is that it works with any shape gift — square, rectangle, etc. these Christmas lights can be adjusted to any size. Start out by drawing a curved line with loops every inch or so from one end of the gift to the other with a medium-point black marker. Then, make tiny rectangular bulb “bases” about every half inch, taking care to draw them at the end of each loop. Fire up that hot glue gun, and place a bead of hot glue at the end of each base. Immediately place a colored pom pom (since hot glue dries super quick) and continue until you’ve placed a pom pom “light” at the end of each of your bases. Want to have your presents all match under the tree and these rainbow pom pomps are clashing with your chic gift wrap? Easy — just use pom pom colors that match with the rest of your gifts.

Rudolph The Red Pom Pom Reindeer

Rudolph DIY Gift Wrap With Pom Pom “Nose” and Twine “Collar”
Idea #2: This gift wrapping idea is sure to make everyone see red! Everyone’s favorite red-nosed reindeer is front and center for this gift wrap. I used googly eyes for, duh, his eyes, a small red pom pom for the nose, and made a collar with red twine and a small gold jingle bell. I cut brown cardstock into skinny rectangles and glued smaller rectangles to them to make his antlers. Super simple, but oh so cute!

Santa Baby

Santa Claus Gift Wrap – Gold Buttons and Belt
Idea #3: Santa’s Favorite Gift. Don’t worry — even if you were naughty this year, you can still craft your way on to Santa’s ‘nice’ list with this cute DIY gift wrap. Check out this quick video for the complete DIY tutorial.
For this, all you’ll need is a few simple craft supplies — some wide red ribbon, black and white paper, and gold beads or you can even use gold buttons. I started by gluing my red ribbon down for his “belt”, and then cut a black rectangular piece of paper slightly larger than the width of the belt. I then cut a white rectangular piece slightly smaller than the black one and glued them all on top of each other with a glue stick. I used hot glue for the gold beads so they would hold to the paper. And there ya go — a DIY Santa gift wrap that would even make Mrs. Claus look twice.
Ribbon Christmas Tree

Ribbon Christmas Tree — DIY Christmas Wrapping Paper
Idea #4: Have some leftover ribbon, but not enough to wrap your gift or make a bow? Try cutting it into strips and make a Christmas tree with it! Check out this quick video for the complete DIY tutorial.
All you need are strips of ribbon — I chose to use wide green ribbon and thinner ribbon with a Christmas tree pattern. I cut them into strips 4″, 5″, 6″, 7″ and 8″ long. After centering them on my gift, I glued them down, starting with the thinner ribbon first. When I got to the last wide ribbon strip, I left a bit of space for my cinnamon stick “trunk”. You can either hot glue the cinnamon stick to your gift, or use foam squares. I had extra star stickers at home, so I used that for the top of my tree. But, in case you have to make one yourself, you can either use felt or paper, cut a star shape out, and then glue that to your gift. And…you’re done! This package is sure to add a festive touch to your Christmas gifts!
